African National Congress (ANC) secretary-general Ace Magashule says that the party will continue to engage with former president Jacob Zuma.

Magashule made the remarks at the Charlotte Maxeke commemoration in Soweto on Wednesday.
It comes amid the standoff between Zuma and the commission of inquiry into state capture due to the former head of state’s refusal to testify.
“We have engaged as the top six with President Zuma. We have agreed as we told you that we are going to continuously engage with President Zuma and many other leaders.”

Last month, the party’s top six met with Zuma at his Nkandla home in an effort to convince him to cooperate with the commission.
The meeting came after Zuma’s refusal to comply with a Constitutional Court order that he appear before the Zondo commission.
The former president has since hit out at ANC leadership, saying the ANC the party "left him dry" amid his various legal battles.
