The Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court has granted bail of R200 000 to African National Congress (ANC) secretary-general Ace Magashule.

Magashule appeared in court on Friday morning on corruption charges.
Magashule has been charged with corruption, fraud and money laundering for his alleged role in the Free State' provincial government’s R255-million asbestos audit contract.
The contract was awarded during his time as provincial premier.
Magistrate Amos Moos told the court that he is satisfied that Magashule being release on bail would not disturb public order or undermine public peace.
"Taking that into consideration I'm satisfied in the interest of justice that we release the accused person on bail.
"I'm of the view that an amount of R200 000 would be suitable under the circumstance of the accused person to be released on bail," said Moos.
