Maimane: Nomgcobo Jiba is an obstruction of justice
Updated | By Sune du Toit

“Jiba has already had prima facie evidence against her. In fact, she is an obstruction to justice. Ultimately we are saying the decision to not hold a commission of inquiry against her is irrational,” Maimane told hundreds of DA supporters outside the National Prosecuting Authority’s headquarters in Pretoria.
“A commission of inquiry was held against Mxolisi Nxasana and now he is gone.
"It has not been held against Jiba, against whom the North Gauteng High Court raised the fact that she is unfit to hold office. I have written to the president before and he has ignored us.”
He said the party was approaching the courts, requesting the judiciary to compel President Jacob Zuma to establish the inquiry into Jiba.
Police were deployed to the NPA office on Monday morning as DA supporters gathered on Westlake Avenue, near the main entrance.
Several news crews were also on the scene.
Maimane was accompanied by DA senior officials including national spokesperson Refiloe Nt’sekhe and shadow minister of justice Glynnis Breytenbach – a former senior NPA employee.
