Major pipe burst in Joburg North
Johannesburg Water has confirmed a major pipe along
Washington Drive in Northcliff that is affecting the Linden Reservoir 1, Linden Reservoir 2 and
Blairgowrie Reservoir.
Spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene says the pipe was damaged by a contractor.
“The contractor was busy with pipe installation in the area, Johannesburg Water is engaging the contractor to recover losses of water and repair costs” she says.
Chuene says repairs have begun and the process is estimated to take up to 72 hours.
Residents in areas affected have been urged to reduce water consumption to avoid rapid water decline in water supply availability.
