Major Telkom internet outage detected
Updated | By Laila Majiet
Telecommunications provider Telkom detected a major fibre break in Centurion on Thursday.
The company says the break had caused significant communication disruptions.
In an exclusive statement sent to Jacaranda FM News, Telkom spokesperson Gugulethu Maqetuka says: "Telkom this morning detected a major optic fibre break in Centurion, 3.19km from Lyttelton. The break is impacting Telkom Internet and Telkom mobile data customers causing slow internet browsing. Our engineers are currently on site to locate the break and commence with restoration."
Customers have taken to social media to voice their frustration.
Many have complained of being offline since early on Thursday morning, while others say they've been experiencing extremely slow connectivity since Wednesday.
