Makhubo: City to focus on 6 priorities before elections
Updated | By Neo Motloung
Johannesburg Mayor Geoff Makhubo says the city will focus on six priorities before the current administration’s term comes to an end in October.
The local government elections are expected to take place on October 27.
Makhubo delivered his State of the City Address on Tuesday.
He said the city will have six areas of focus ahead of the polls.
"At this point we must consolidate and accelerate implementation to thrive for a better tomorrow.
"There is a coherent plan backed by clear programmes towards the end of this term," said Makhubo.
The six priorities include the Covid-19 pandemic, the transformation of the city’s economy, spatial restructuring, and what the city has dubbed high-impact service delivery.
