Makhura reiterates ‘etolls have failed’

Gauteng Premier David Makhura says
the controversial e-tolls system has failed in the province.
He made the remark during his State of the Province Address.
Makhura says e-tolls has added to the cost of living for motorist and public transport users in the province.
"The new dawn has to bring a solution to this protracted and unresolved issues of e-tolls. It is loud and clear e-tolls have not worked."
Makhura is set to meet with President Cyril Ramaphosa to find a new funding model for roads in the province.

Government introduced the system prior to the 2010 Soccer World Cup in order to ease traffic congestion in the province.
