Gauteng Premier and African National Congress (ANC)
Chairperson, David Mkhura has given a moving tribute to the late struggle
stalwart Moses Chikane.

Chikane passed away earlier this month at the age of 69.
He was one of the first group of Members of Parliament to serve after the first democratic elections in 1994.
Speaking to mourners in Mamelodi, east of Pretoria, Makhura said Chikane's legacy could not be separated from the ruling party.
"Many of those who are gathered here today, were recruited into the struggle, trained and developed into the leaders they are today because of Bra Moss," says Mkhura.
Makhura said when division within the ANC led to the party losing the City of Tshwane, Chikane decried.
The Gauteng Premier called on the ANC to win back the capital city in honour of the late Chikane.
"Let us remember Bra Moss by ensuring that those of us in the ANC work hard to take the ANC back to the ANC, including those here in Mamelodi. Let's us remember freedom was not free, people sacrificed their lives."
Makhura announced in honour of Chikane, Tsamaya Road in Mamelodi will be renamed Moses Chikane Avenue.
"Let us commit that new mega human settlement project on Nellmapius, east of Mamelodi. That mega human settlement will also be named Moses Chikane."
Chikane is survived by five sons and a daughter, three brothers and four sisters.
