Malema: EFF not part of any coalition agreement

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema says the party has not entered into any coalition agreement.

Malema addressed the party’s Siyabonga Rally in Thembisa, east of Johannesburg on Saturday.

The rally was to thank supporters, volunteers, members and officials for voting during the recent local elections.

The EFF has so far not been able to strike a coalition agreement with any major political party in the hung metros.

The DA’s John Steenhuisen told the media earlier on Saturday that it was impossible to form an opposition coalition in Johannesburg metro without relying on the EFF.

But Malema said the party is currently not part of any coalition agreement.

“There is no coalition that the EFF will get into. We are on our own, we sleep well at night because white people say they can work with any party but not the EFF. It is a good thing because white people are always complaining about the EFF when they speak.

“It is because they know that the EFF will never surrender or succumb to whiteness. We don’t have bosses we are our own bosses as the EFF,” Malema told supporters.

He urged all parties to unite on Monday as the various metros start voting in new mayors.

“Mashaba, the DA and all those small parties because they don’t want us, they must unite and take out the ANC.

“The DA must put aside its white arrogance and share positions because no one won the elections, so when no one has won the elections we must share the positions. If they unite and become one thing and we see that they are defeated by the ANC maybe we can assist here and there.”
