Malema: I am not scared to go to jail
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
EFF leader Julius Malema says he would be scared to go to prison for corruption, but not in the fight for land.
Malema yesterday briefly appeared in the Newcastle Magistrate's Court in KwaZulu-Natal for charges of contravening the 1956 Riotous Assemblies Act, for calling on supporters to take unoccupied land.
The matter was postponed to December 7 to allow Malema time to approach the High Court on the legitimacy of the law.
Malema addressed supporters outside court and didn't mince his words when it came to land ownership.
He said that no white person can legitimately own land in South Africa and that the time has come to take it back.

"We, the rightful owners - our peace was disturbed by the white man's arrival here. They committed a black genocide and killed our people during land disposition," Malema told supporters.
He added that the Africans were peaceful and that white people slaughtered black people like animals.
"We are not calling for the slaughtering of white people - at least for now," Malema said.
The EFF leader called for the peaceful occupation of land.
