Man arrested after body of missing girl (12) found in Phillipi
A 48-year-old man is expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court on Friday in connection with the murder of 12-year-old Michaela Williams.
Williams’ body was discovered in Philippi, Cape Town in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police spokesperson Novela Potelwa says the 12-year-old was reported missing in Grassy Park on Wednesday.
"The mother of the child reported her missing on Wednesday. After that, a search with various role players commenced, the suspect was interviewed following vital information that was received.
"The interview led to him pointing out where the body was in Schaapkraal, Philippi," says Potelwa.
The suspect will face a charge of murder.
Potelwa adds that a post mortem will soon be conducted.
"The post mortem will determine how Williams died and whether more charges need to be added."
