Updated | By ANA
Police have arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend several times in Lusaka, Nyanga, in Cape Town on Friday, Western Cape police said.
“The woman later died in hospital due to her injuries. The suspect is under police guard in hospital as he also stubbed himself in the stomach, Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said.
The man was expected to appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of murder.
“Families are advised to seek help when encountering family problems or conflicts in relationships. There are organisations available who can assist to prevent these gruesome killings,” Rwexana said.
