Man arrested for allegedly raping 12-year-old girl in North West
A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl at a farm in Lichtenburg, North West police said on Sunday.
Major Pelonomi Makau said the man allegedly raped the girl on Thursday and was arrested on Friday.
“It is alleged that the suspect, who is employed at one of the local farms in Lichtenburg, raped the minor and afterwards injected her with medication meant for cattle to prevent her from falling pregnant.
“The matter was reported to the police and the suspect was traced and apprehended. The minor was admitted at the hospital for medical treatment. Investigation into the matter continues,” said Makau.
The man was expected to appear in the Lichtenburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday. -ANA
