Man arrested for Bedfordview machete attack

A 52-year-old man has been
arrested for common assault after he attacked his former son-in-law with a
machete.

The incident took place in full view of the public at the Bedford Centre in Bedfordview on the East Rand.
Police spokesperson Andre de Jager says before the attack police received a complaint of intimidation.
"We received an intimidation complaint today of a man who was intimidating his ex-wife.
"The group then moved to Bedford Centre where the man then attacked his son-in-law with a machete," he says.
The victim sustained injuries to his head and was rushed to a local hospital.
The suspect has been detained at Bedfordview Police Station and will is expected to appear in court soon.
