Man arrested for pushing girlfriend from 4th floor of Joburg hotel

Johannesburg police spokesperson Xoli Mbele says the incident happened in the early hours of Thursday morning.

“Johannesburg Central Police apprehended a 38-year-old male for attempted murder at Blue Starr hotel corner Bree and Troy street at 1am on Thursday morning.
“The suspect booked a hotel with his girlfriend on Wednesday at 8pm and they where given the key to a room on the 4th floor.”
In the early hours of Thursday morning a security guard on duty at the hotel arose to a loud bang where made the painful discovery.
“Security heard a loud bang in the middle of the night and when he went outside to inspect, he saw the 25-year-old female on the street badly injured.
“She told the security guard that her boyfriend pushed her out and she was taken to hospital in a critical condition.”
The 39-year-old man was found sleeping in the hotel room when police arrived.
“Police were contacted and apprehended a suspect who was found sleeping in the room as if nothing happened.
“The motive for pushing the victim is not yet known as investigations continue,” adds Mbele.
