A 39-year-old man has been arrested for the brutal killing of a 24-year-old jockey.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo says the jockey went missing last Monday.
"The jockey was reported missing after he disappeared from the Turffontein racecourse", said Naidoo.
Naidoo says members of the National Crime Intelligence Unit provided the Booysens police with intelligence relating to a possible suspect.
"This led to the arrest of the suspect on Friday. He led police to the place where he allegedly disposed of the victim's body", added Naidoo.
When police arrived on the scene, they found the charred remains of the victim.
"We will be conducting DNA analysis to confirm the identity of the victim", said Naidoo.
The suspect is expected to appear at the Johannesburg Magistrates court soon.
