A suspected drug dealer was arrested in Ottery on Wednesday morning, with drugs valued at around R4 million, Western Cape police said.
Spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut said Grassy Park police noticed a silver Hyundai vehicle driving under “suspicious circumstances” in Ottery.
He said the driver sped off when he saw the police approaching him but was apprehended.
Police searched the car of the 32-year-old foreign national residing in Delft and found a large quantity of drugs and money.
“The drugs, comprising two kilograms of crystal meth, a large quantity of mandrax, dagga, and a large quantity of cocaine, have an estimated street value of R4 million. A substantial amount of cash was also seized,” said Traut.
Traut said the man was expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of dealing in drugs.
