A 51-year-old man has been arrested at OR Tambo Airport in a R4million drug bust.
The South African Revenue Services (Sars) says the suspect was found in possession of 13 kilograms of methamphetamine on Sunday.
Sars spokesperson Sandile Memela says the passenger with a dual Nigerian and South African passport appeared to be in a hurry to bypass customs.
"Customs officials who conducted a physical profile of passengers noticed that his small suitcase on wheels was too heavy for its size.
"It was taken through the scanner and tests revealed a dense green colour that turned out to be drugs in three black plastic bags," he says.
The suspect is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
