A man has been arrested for allegedly robbing the Kwaggafontein police station in Mpumalanga last year.

The 36-year-old suspect was nabbed at a hideout in Ekangala on Wednesday.
He was found in possession of an unlawful firearm and ammunition.
In June 2022, a group of heavily-armed suspects robbed the police station firearms from the officers who were on duty.
The suspect appeared in the Ekangala Magistrate's Court for the possession of unlawful firearm, where his case was postponed to Tuesday 10 October for a bail application.
Police spokesperson Selvy Mohlala says the suspect is also expected to appear before the Mkobola Regional Court soon for armed robbery case at another police station.
"He will join his two co-accused who were arrested in Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal provinces respectively. During their arrest, one rifle, two pistols, and one shotgun robbed from the police station were recovered.
"The other two suspects did not apply for bail, and are still in custody awaiting their next court appearance on Monday, 27 November 2023."
