Man attempts to exchange counterfeit cash at SARB

A 35-year-old man has been arrested for possession of counterfeit money to the value of R2 million.
Gauteng police spokesperson Kay Makhubela says officers were contacted by the South African Reserve Bank after the suspect attempted to exchange the counterfeit money for real cash.

"The police went in and when they found him he could not explain properly where he got the counterfeit money."
Makhubela says police are investigating where the suspect got the money.
"We are going to investigate further to determine what was his aim of this counterfeit money."
The suspect will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court soon.
