A 44-year-old man is expected to appear in the Da Gamaskop Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday for the alleged rape of his eight-year-old stepdaughter, Western Cape police said.
Captain Bernadine Steyn said the man was arrested on Sunday in Joe Slovo Park in Da Gamaskop.
“Friday morning, at about 07.15am the suspect allegedly raped the victim on the floor in their hut in Ndanda Street while she was preparing for school,” said Steyn.
He was arrested at around 10am at the hut, she said.
