A 29-year-old suspect will appear in a northern KZN court on Monday for allegedly robbing church congregants in KwaMsane.
According to police, a group of armed men entered the premises during a service earlier this month.
They robbed the worshippers of their cell phones and other belongings.
The robbers then fled in a congregant's car, which has still not been found.
KZN police spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo says one suspect was arrested on Sunday.
"Charges of robbery, carjacking and kidnapping were opened at KwaMsane police station for investigation.
"The suspect will be profiled to check if he is linked to other robbery and carjacking cases where the similar modus operandi was used. More arrests are expected as investigations still unfold."
