Man dies after stepping on illegal power connections while relieving himself
A businessman died after accidently stepping on illegal power connection wires while relieving himself on the side of the road in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg.
It is believed the Sandton businessman parked his car on the side of the road to relieve himself.
An African National Congress' (ANC) councillor in the area, Zarina Motala, said the man urinated along the Lenasia railway line, were several live wires run from the railway station to the nearby informal settlement.
"You see wires running across the vandalised railway station, and apparently the man gone there to urinate got executed and died afterwards," said Motara.
She adds the matter of illegal wire connections has been reported to City Power.
The last time City Power cut illegal connections in the area, residents of the informal settlement across the railway line protested and reconnected the illegal connections.
