A 29-year-old man has died after trying to rescue a
13-year-old girl from drowning.

The incident took place the Wolfgat Nature Reserve on Wednesday afternoon.
National Sea Rescue Institute's (NSRI) Craig Lambinon says the deceased was trying to rescue the 13-year-old, who is believed to be disabled, from drowning.
"While he was trying to assist her, he got into difficulty. Another man in his thirties (also) tried to help, and he got into difficulty," says Lambinon.
Lambinon adds a man who believed to have "come out of nowhere" managed to rescue all three and take them to the shore.
"When the lifeguards got there the 29-year-old man was breathless and pulseless, CPR efforts were started."
The 29-year-old was declared deceased on the scene after efforts to resuscitate him were exhausted, says Lambinon.
The man believed to be in his thirties and the 13-year-old girl are both recovering in hospital and are a serious but stable condition.
