Man killed while crossing on green light at Garsfontein Road

A man believed to be in his sixties was declared dead on the scene on Wednesday after he was knocked over while he was crossing Garsfontein Road in Pretoria.

Emergency services Netcare911 responded to the accident and said that “reports from the scene indicate that the man was crossing the Garsfontein road while the robot was green”.
According to these reports, while the man was attempting to cross the road, a white VW polo approached, tried to swerve away from the man, but ended up knocking him over.
“The man was declared dead on the scene,” said NetCare911.
The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and police would conduct further investigations.
