Man nabbed at roadblock with drugs worth R3m

Police in the Northern Cape have arrested a 56-year-old man from Johannesburg for possession of crystal meth worth R3 million.

Police spokesperson Mohale Ramatseba says the man was caught during a roadblock in Calvinia on Friday morning.
"The drugs were hidden in the spare wheel of the Isuzu bakkie he was driving. An empty hidden compartment was also discovered in the seat of the bakkie.”
The suspect was apparently driving from the Eastern Cape to Cape Town.
The suspect is set to appear before the Calvinia Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
