Man nabbed for selling fake passports at Joburg Park Station

Police have arrested a man for the distribution of fake passports at Park Station in Johannesburg.
The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa says the suspect was operating in a cloakroom belonging to one of the informal traders.
A police search found computer hardware and components, fake passports, photographs and ID cards, and printing equipment.
"The informal trader concerned is said to be subletting her allocated trading stall at R5000 per month to persons not allowed to trade at our facilities and promoting illegal activities on our premises,” said PRASA spokesperson Andiswa Makanda.
"PRASA is aware of the illegal subletting of trading spaces to persons without authorisation to operate on our premises by informal traders."
Makanda says unregulated trading is a major headache at Park Station.
"The unregulated trading by informal traders, unlawful free for all renting of trading stalls; and degradation of Park Station have necessitated that we act for the safety and security of our personnel, commuters, and informal traders.
"While the eviction of informal traders may come as an inconvenience, we plead informal traders understand and be patient as we proceed with the process to formalize and regularize the presence of informal traders at Park Station."
