Man sets himself on fire at Montecasino
A man died after he set himself on fire at Montecasino in Johannesburg on Sunday.
According to police the man doused himself with petrol where after he set himself alight.
"It is not clear exactly what led to the man setting himself alight. Investigations are underway to determine why he set himself alight," police spokesperson Balan Muthen told Jacaranda FM News.
According to reports, Montecasino management said the man set himself alight next to the security checkpoint in a case of a possible suicide.
"Emergency services are at the scene and precautionary measures were immediately taken to ensure the safety of our visitors. Our thoughts are with the family and friends," the casino management told ANA.
The man has not yet been identified.
