A man in his 30s was shot dead in the Pretoria city centre, Gauteng police said on Tuesday.
"The incident [concerns] a love triangle involving the two men and a woman. The man was killed by three gunshots fired at him; the fourth bullet missed him and hit a shop window," said spokeswoman Sergeant Ann Poortman.
Poortman said the alleged shooter, aged 35, walked into the deceased's workplace on Tuesday morning and an argument between the two ensued.
"The suspect pulled out a firearm and shot the man in the stomach, he ran out of the building and the suspect followed him."
He allegedly fired a second shot which hit the deceased in the back. A third shot missed and hit a shop window.
"He approached him and shot him again at close range, the bullet hit the deceased in the head and he died," Poortman said.
The alleged shooter has been arrested and charged with murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm, she said.
He is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court soon.
