A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death in Durban by two men who robbed him and his girlfriend, police said on Thursday.

Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said the incident happened on Wednesday evening on North Coast Road at about 7pm. The man and his girlfriend were approached by two men who demanded their belongings.
Kyle can Reenen, spokesman for Marshall Security, who were also in attendance, said that reports from the scene indicated that the man had attempted to flee the two men with his girlfriend’s handbag. But the two chased him.
”A scuffle broke out in a nearby alley with one of the suspects stabbing the man multiple times in the chest,” said Van Reenen.
By the time the paramedics arrived, the man had succumbed to his wounds and he was declared dead at the scene.
Zwane said a case of murder had been opened at the Greenwood police station and that as of Thursday morning no arrests had been made.
