Two unique listings will launch on 18 July: an auction for a custom-made, one-of-a-kind set of three Nelson Mandela Lego figurines, aswell as a fund-raiser raffle for the Nelson Mandela Library Initiative.

For the auction, users will be able to bid on a specially made, one-of-a kind set of three Nelson Mandela Lego mini-figures.

The figures will commemorate three iconic moments in the life of the celebrated anti-apartheid fighter and the first president of democratic South Africa.

All proceeds from the auction of the Nelson Mandela Lego mini-figures, which promise to become highly collectible, will go towards setting up Lego Educational and Play areas in the Nelson Mandela Day Library Initiative.

The bidorbuy auction closes on 25 July.

The auction winner will also receive a complementary The LEGO Movie Blu-ray and DVD combo pack, to celebrate the South African DVD release of the Hollywood blockbuster.

The involvement of Lego and a number of local organisations, including bidorbuy, in the Nelson Mandela Library Initiative will continue even after the auction closes and the lucky winner walks away with the three Nelson Mandela Lego figurines.

Also starting on 18 July and running for one month, bidorbuy will host a charity raffle in which users will be able to give as many R2 donations as they want.

Each R2 donation will go towards acquiring one Lego brick for the newly created Educational Lego Building and Play Areas in container libraries that are being installed in schools around South Africa by Participate For Good.

Everyone who donates a Lego brick on bidorbuy is entered into a lucky draw for a chance to win one of twenty specially designed Nelson Mandela Lego mini figures, as well as a copy of The LEGO Movie on DVD.

We are proud to host the Lego auction and charity raffle”, says bidorbuy CEO Jaco Jonker.

This is a wonderful way to allow everyone to celebrate Mandela Day in a meaningful way, even those who cannot afford to give as much as they would like to.

It is important to emphasise that every R2 donation matters and we hope that bidorbuyers will make use of this unique opportunity to contribute generously to a good cause.
