Mandela's grandson in court for rape

Gauteng police spokesperson Brigadier Mashadi Selepe said Mandela was arrested on Saturday, 15 August, after a rape case was opened against him by a 15-year old girl.

Selepe said the incident took place on 7 August in Greenside, Johannesburg. 

 

"The incident took place on the 7 August 2015 in Greenside according to the complainant", she said.

 

The case was remanded to Friday, 21 August 2015 for a formal bail application

 

The Daily Sun reported that to the 15 year old's family claimed that the teen went to the toilet when Mbuso Mandela allegedly grabbed her and raped her inside on of the cubicles. 

It was also reported that Winnie Madikizela-Mandela allegedly sent her body guard, who pretended to be a cop, to intimidate the girl's family. 

Madikizela-Mandela's spokesperson could not be reached by time of publication.
