Manhunt launched after death of Welkom woman
Police have launched a manhunt for suspects involved in the killing of a woman in Welkom in the Free State.
The 19-year-old woman had been fatally shot in the head, police confirm.
Welkom police spokesperson, Stephen Thakeng says the woman's body was found under a tree.
"The body of a 19-year-old woman who was later identified as Nthabiseng Mokeki, was found lying under a tree. The deceased sustained two gunshot wounds in the head."
Police say the deceased received a phone call on the eve of the discovery of her body.
"The deceased received a phone call on 3 August at about 01:00 and informed her housemates that she was going out. She never returned," Thakeng says.
