Manhunt launched for dangerous awaiting trail prisoners
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Police in Gauteng have launched a massive manhunt for nine awaiting trial prisoners who escaped from the Springs Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Police are investigating how the nine awaiting trial prisoners managed to escape from the holding cells at the Springs Magistrates Court.
Four of the escapees face murder charges while the rest have to stand trail for theft, possession of drugs and being in the country illegally.
Police spokesperson Mathapelo Peters has pleaded with members of the community to help police in re-arresting the alleged criminals.
“Members of the public are warned not to confront the prisoners, particularly the murder suspects as they are considered to be dangerous and possibly armed.”
