Manhunt for M1 shooting suspect

Police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini says police were following a suspicious vehicle when two occupants opened fire.

 

 

“While police were chasing the vehicle a shootout ensued between the suspects and police. The suspect lost control of the vehicle and one of the suspects managed to flee on foot,” he says.

 

 

One of the suspects (28) was arrested and an AK-47 and ammunition was seized upon searching the vehicle.

 

Dlamini says they believe the two suspects were on their way to commit a crime.

 

Nobody was injured during the shootout.

 

The suspect will be charged with attempted murder, possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition and possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.
