Manhunt on for eight Limpopo rapist robbers
Updated | By Neo Leeuw
Limpopo police said on Sunday that a manhunt is underway to find eight men who raped two women and conducted armed robberies on three farms at Tagana's Hoek near Letsitele.
"The gang started their reign of terror around midday [Saturday] when they attacked and raped a 32-year-old woman, before helping themselves to two rifles, a pistol and R300 in cash," said police spokesman Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi.
He said the eight men then went to another farm and raped a 59-year-old domestic worker from Zimbabwe.
At the third farm, they stole electrical appliances and DVDs before running into the bushes.
Some of the stolen goods and money was dropped on the way.
Mulaudzi said that two of the men had been identified.
"Their arrest is imminent."
Mulaudzi said if any member of the public was confronted with anybody trying to sell suspected stolen appliances, they should contact the police.
