Mashatile to visit flood victims
Updated | By MornéJK
Acting Gauteng Premier Paul Mashatile will today visit areas that have been affected by flash floods.

According to a statement from the Premier's Office, Mashatile will visit the affected areas to assess the damage in the Johannesburg and East Rand areas.
"During the visit the acting premier will interact with affected residents to determine the kind of assistance required," the statement confirmed.
It also read that the provincial government is working with the Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni municipalities to support affected people and attend to damaged public infrastructure.

This comes after the Jukskei River burst its banks in Alexandra, leaving at least 130 people homeless.
The Gift of the Giver's, Badr Kazi told Jacaranda FM News that their search and rescuers were in the area until 3am, to help after reports that some people were missing.
"Luckily all the missing people have been accounted for," Kazi said.
The South African Weather Service has meanwhile issued a warning of severe thunderstorms in parts of Gauteng, Mpumalanga and the North West.
