Massive fire breaks out at Midrand factory
Johannesburg emergency services on Tuesday managed to extinguish a fire at a foam mattress factory in Glen Austin, Midrand.
The massive fire broke out on Tuesday morning.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
EMS Spokesperson Nana Radebe-Kgiba said all the employees were evacuated.
"The fire has been contained, and we're just busy damping it down. No reports of casualties. We have managed to evacuate people when the fire started. We'll do preliminary investigations after we're done with damping down.
"The factor has lots of things, but mostly foam. Foam that is used to make beds," she added.
