Massive power outage in Pretoria
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Thousands of residents in the eastern and southern suburbs of Pretoria are without power after an isolator exploded at a substation.

The isolator exploded at the Nyala substation just after 6 am on Monday morning.
City of Tshwane spokesperson Lindela Mashigo says they cannot say when power will be restored.
“The city’s artisans are still busy isolating the faults in all areas, especially those that are in Pretoria East, which are still affected.

“We will disclose the estimated time of restoration during the course of the day. We believe that will be possible once we have identified the fault.”
The city has managed to restore electricity to some suburbs in the south of Pretoria.
