Masuku: Report into Shonisani Lethole death ‘to be shared soon’
Updated | By Neo Motloung
Gauteng Health MEC Bandile Masuku says his department is determined to get to the bottom of what led to the death of businessman Shonisani Lethole at Tembisa Hospital.
Before his death on Monday, Lethole told his family that he had been deprived of food while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Masuku says the incident is regrettable and should never have happened.
"We are investigating and the report will soon be shared with the family and the public and with the Minister (of Health, Zweli Mkhize) of the circumstances surrounding that particular aspect of food provision and certainly the issue surrounding his demise.”
Masuku was speaking during a visit to the Nasrec quarantine and isolation site in the south Johannesburg on Friday morning.
