A Grade 12 pupil has died after she was run over by a vehicle on the M7 freeway on Monday.
Two other people have been injured in the crash on the M7 towards the Bluff, south of Durban.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says the vehicle veered onto the pavement and into the group of pedestrians.
"Out of the three pedestrians, two are Grade 12 pupils who have just completed their final exam paper. One of the girls has been declared deceased on the scene. The second pupil and another pedestrian are currently being treated by advanced life support paramedics," he says.
Matric pupils wrote their English Paper 3 exam on Monday.
