Mbalula: ANC won't rule forever

Mbalula briefed the media on organisational renewal at the party's policy conference in Nasrec in the south of Johannesburg.

"You first have to know who you are before you can begin to renew and design. There must be an accurate understanding of 'self-first'," Mbalula says.

Mbalula says there is no denying that the ANC is riddled with factionalism, gate keeping and the buying of membership and admits the party would need to seriously self-correct if it wants to stay in power.

"This includes looking at own policies of the past and add the genesis of the ANC to its middle-age and up to here.

"The perception that lobbying is prohibited creates favourable grounds for destructive factionalism and accusations of corruptions or capture," he says.

Mbalula says factionalism has become an integral part of the organisational culture and that the ANC has been unsuccessfully dealing with similar issues for over two decades.
