Police Minister Fikile Mbalula has welcomed the
appointments of two deputy national commissioners.
Newly-appointed National Commissioner, General Khehla Sitole, appointed Lieutenant General LJ Tsumane as Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection last week. Mbalula says the role is a ''very important vacancy to be filled so that our new thrust of having a crime intelligence led approach to fighting crime can be realized''.
Sithole also appointed Lieutenant General FN Vuma as a new Deputy National Commissioner for Management Advisory Services.
Vuma will be tasked with general managerial responsibilities in the police department.
Police spokesperson Vuyo Mhaga says the new leadership will bring stability to the police department.
