Former President Thabo Mbeki has paid tribute to jazz legend Thandi Klaasen at her funeral in Alberton.

Klaasen passed away at the age of 86.
Mbeki addressed hundreds of friends and family gathered to pay their last respects.
"Let her rest in peace. I'm certain that none of us, as South Africans, will ever forget her," says Mbeki.
Mbeki awarded Klaasen with the Order of the Baobab in Gold in 2006 for her selfless service to the nation.
"I thought I should come today just to say farewell, to say once again thank you very much for everything you have done for our people," says Mbeki.
