Following the released of the CRL Rights Commission report, an incensed Mboro told his congregants they need to help him pay his legals bills or he could decide to close his doors.

The commission probed the commercialization of religion in the country and the abuse of people's belief systems and found that the there is no substantive data base of the country's religious sector.

It recommended that religious leaders and organization be licensed.

"Why do they only follow me? Because I am a South African and because I am black. Here, if you are a South African you can't do anything good - you must be destroyed so that the others can take the glory," Mboro told his congregants.

He accused the commission of targeting black charismatic churches.

Mboro now plans to take the commission to court, but says he needs financial assistance from his flock.

"I'm going on strike. Like these funerals that I was going to do - I'm suspending that because I have to take the money and defend myself legally. I have given my people, all over, nine weeks and I will be focussing on people who will help me and who cares about me," he said.

He will also put production of his television show on hold as he prepares for the legal battle.
