Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
Gauteng MEC for Social Development Nandi Mayathula-Khoza is expected to announce steps that will be taken against unregistered Early Childhood Development centres and NGOs in communities.
Earlier this month a nine- month old girl was burnt at a creche in Pretoria after a kettle of boiling water allegedly fell on her.
"The toddler was burnt on the abdomen and the hands. The child and other children between the ages of three months to 18 months were left unattended" said Social Development spokesman Mbangwa Xaba.
The MEC will visit the toddler who is recovering at home.
