Print and Digital Media SA will receive a report on Friday relating to the transformation of print and digital media.
The report was compiled by a transformation task team set up last year to research and make findings about transformation.
It had examined issues such as ownership, management, employment equity, skills development, and the low level of black ownership in many large media groups.
This was intended to help the media industry develop a common strategy for transformation.
In September last year, project director Mathatha Tsedu said the team was the first of its kind, with other industry commissions having looked at issues such as press freedom.
"This is looking at the business side," Tsedu, a former newspaper editor, said at the time.
"As far as I know, we have not had a commission or task team of this nature before," he said.
