MetroBus service still suspended

The metro buses in Johannesburg were still not running on Tuesday morning after drivers started with a strike on Friday afternoon.
The company's Esther Dreyer said they have more clarity on the driver's grievances and talks are underway to resolve the issue.
"We did meet with union leaders on Monday and we are hoping that services would resume shortly," Dreyer told Jacaranda FM News.
Workers downed tools on Friday protesting against outsourcing by the Metro Bus company.
This after external inspectors were appointed to carry out regular inspections on the company's fleet.

Commuters in Johannesburg had a tough time getting to work on Monday morning, after Metrobus workers embarked on a strike despite an interdict against the strike.
"No buses will be running today and I suggest that passengers make alternative arrangements for transport. I apologise for the inconvenience. I trust it will not be for too long," she said.
