A 'middleman' linked to the Gupta companies Regiments Capital and Trillian was arrested on Tuesday while trying to leave South Africa.

He is also suspected to have been involved in suspicious transactions with Transnet worth millions of Rand.
Investigating Directorate spokesperson Sindisiwe Seboka says the suspect was arrested at OR Tambo International Airport, preparing to leave on a flight to Dubai.
"The arrest is linked to money laundering of the proceeds from contracts that were improperly awarded by Transnet to Regiments Capital and Trillian as well as thefts by Regiments Fund Managers from the Transnet Second Defined Benefit Fund,"
The suspect is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Specialised Crimes Court on Wednesday.
