A miner was killed in a fall of ground incident at Harmony Gold's Phakisa mine near Welkom, the mining company said on Monday.

Operations at the mine had stopped since the miner's death on Saturday, the company said.
The mine would resume activities once investigations into the death had been completed.
Harmony CEO Graham Briggs and the company's management expressed their condolences to the family and colleagues of the miner.
